Happy Birthday to my Blog

I can't believe I am already blowing out the candle for my blog's first birthday! This is not only the anniversary of my very first blog post, but it is also, coincidentally, the day that my 50th blog post goes live! This is such an exciting day for me and my blog! I would like to start off by saying thank you so so much to those that have supported me in this really exciting time in my life. I started my website as a creative outlet for all things fashion and lifestyle, but I never would have imagined the love and support I have gotten from family and friends, and the new friendships I have made! It has been so much fun being a blogger so far, and I can't wait to get creative with some new posts in the future! For my 50th post/1st birthday extravaganza, I decided to make some delicious moscato cupcakes. It is a super easy, fun recipe that you and your friends will absolutely love!

The best thing about this recipe is that you don't need very many ingredients. For the actual cupcakes, all you need is a box of white cake mix and 1.5 cups of your favorite moscato! It is literally that easy. For the frosting, you will need 2 sticks of butter, a teaspoon of vanilla extract, 4 cups of powdered sugar, and, of course, 1/4 cup of moscato!

To make the cakes, just combine your moscato and your cake mix. Yeah, it is literally that easy! Mix them until they have a similar consistency to normal cake batter. Once combined, grease a cupcake pan and fill the cups about 3/4 of the way full. I filled 12 cupcake cups and had a little bit of batter left over. Then, just use the baking instructions on the back of your cake mix to bake your cupcakes! I baked mine for about 20 minutes at 350 degrees.

While the cupcakes are in the oven, it's time to make the icing! For this, all you wanna do is combine your butter, half of your powdered sugar, your vanilla, and your moscato. You don't want to add all of your powdered sugar at this stage because it will fly everywhere and it won't be very easy to combine everything together. Once all of these ingredients are combined, add the rest of your powdered sugar and mix until your icing is light and fluffy!

Next up is the fun part: decorating! You can really get creative with this part. Just make sure that your cupcakes are 100% cool before frosting them so that the icing doesn't melt off. To speed up this process, stick your cupcakes in the fridge or the freezer for a few minutes and they cool in no time! I decided to use a piping bag with a Wilton 2D tip. I love this icing tip because it makes your cupcakes look like roses! If you don't have any piping bags or tips, you can just as easily spoon some frosting onto your cupcakes. I promise it will taste just as delicious! Again, this is totally optional, but I decided to dye a small amount of my icing pink, then paint lines in the piping bag with a knife. I filled the rest of the bag by spooning the white icing into it. This technique gave my icing the most gorgeous subtle pink tones! And, of course, you can't forget sprinkles!

These moscato cupcakes are too delicious. Combining two of my favorite things, cake and wine, is the best decision I have ever made! I can't wait to eat them and celebrate 1 year of blogging. Thank you again to those have supported me over the last year and the last 49 blog posts. If it weren't for your support, I may not have created some of my favorite posts! I have had such an amazing time with KelseyGayle. Thank you!! Give this post a like leave a comment, and subscribe! :)
