DIY Coasters

I have been loving playing around with scrapbook paper to create some really amazing pieces. Check out how I used scrapbook paper to create these coasters!

First up, I just got some old coasters that I didn't need anymore. I bought these coasters when I moved into my apartment, there is one with each of my roomies initials on it! Because I no longer live with my roommates, I thought I would repurpose these old coasters into something that would work for my new space! You could honestly just use cardboard or cork for this DIY, you don't actually need to purchase coasters!

The first thing I did to re-vamp my coasters was to paint the edges with some acrylic paint I bought from Michaels. I absolutely love mauve, so I knew I had to incorporate it into this DIY! I painted about two coats on the edges of my coasters and set them on some cardboard to dry completely.

Next up, I grabbed my scrapbook paper and cut a square that was slightly bigger than my coaster. It was way too difficult to cut and glue to the exact size, so I found this method worked a lot better! I then just painted on some Mod Podge onto my coaster.

I then stuck the scrapbook paper onto the mod podge covered surface and smoothed it out with my hand. It was super easy to just cut the excess paper off once the scrapbook paper was stuck on the coaster! I made sure to go over both the top and the edges with another layer of mod podge just to make it more durable!

These coasters were so simple and easy to make! As you can see, I even got creative and added both patterns onto the same coaster and I love how it turned out! If you are looking for a super cheap and easy way to re-vamp your space, go get yourself some scrapbook paper! Thanks for reading! Please give this post a like, leave a comment, and subscribe! :)
