How I Style Outerwear: Winter Fashion

I have gained quite the collection of outerwear over the years. I love having tons of outerwear pieces so that I never struggle to find a coat to go with my outfit. Here are some of the ways I choose to style my coats!

Please excuse the quality of this photo, but this is the coat I have had the longest. I got this green parka in high school because it was the warmest coat I could find. I am someone who absolutely hates the cold and I need the warmest coat for the coldest days! It can be really difficult to style a coat that is a) this style and b) this color. I decided to wear my "I'm so freaking cold" sweatshirt with this outfit because that's the reason I had to wear this massive coat in the first place. I wanted to include more green in my outfit, so I paired my army print denim skirt with the sweatshirt. Since it was so cold, I added some black leggings to go under the skirt. I was happy to find an outfit that was cute and actually went with my parka!

This next outerwear piece is a duster coat from Shein. This coat is super lightweight, so it is definitely not made for freezing cold winter days. I actually wore this outfit in the beginning of December when it wasn't quite so cold. I went out to a nice dinner and wanted to wear a romper. I absolutely love how duster coats look with bare legs. The coat was long enough that it kept my legs warm.

This grid coat from Shein has proven to be one of my favorites this winter season. As you can see, I typically style this coat with some jeans and a sweater. The coat itself is really bold, or at least I think so, so I don't need too much going on underneath it. I love how this coat dresses up such a simple outfit.

This next outerwear piece is another one of my favorites this winter season. Every time I wear this faux fur coat, I get tons of compliments on it! Since it is such an out-there piece, I tend to style it with a really simple outfit. In both outfits shown, I am wearing some jeans, sneakers, and a plain t-shirt. The more plain the outfit, the better for this coat!

I have been loving having a variety of different outerwear pieces to wear this winter. It is so nice being able to pick from a few different coats depending on what you're wearing. If I had to recommend one coat, though, I would definitely recommend the grid coat from Shein. Black and white can go with anything!
