Apple Cinnamon Sangria

I've only had sangria a few times, but I have always pinned delicious looking recipes on Pinterest, hoping to one day make a batch of my own! I am a huge lover of all things apple, so I wanted to make my own recipe involving that flavor. Some friends and I had a cozy fall night in playing games and watching a movie. I thought sangria would be a perfect addition! I looked up a few recipes but none of them seemed all that great, so I played around with a few ingredients to make my own apple cinnamon sangria recipe!

You're going to be working with only four ingredients for this recipe! You obviously are going to need a bottle of wine. You are also going to need some Fireball cinnamon whisky and some apple juice to add that amazing apple cinnamon flavor! Lastly, you are going to want to add some chopped apples for a fancy-looking and tatsy garnish!

The first step in making my soon-to-be-world-famous apple cinnamon sangria recipe is to chop up some apples! I chose to use green apples because I already had some on hand, but feel free to make it your own and to use your favorite kind of apples! After you chop up the apples, you want to put them in the freezer. You are going to be using your frozen apple chunks as ice cubes later! This makes it so you don't water down your sangria with regular ice cubes, but you keep your drink cool! You need to make sure you put the apples in the freezer at least a few hours before you plan on serving your drink.

Next up, you're going to want to find a container big enough to hold lots of liquid! You are going to be putting an entire bottle of wine and then some into this container, so make sure its big! I used this drink jar from Target to hold my sangria in. Next, I opened my wine bottle! I used a bottle of spiced apple wine that my mom and I discovered this summer and fell in love with. However, if you don't want to overdo the apple or cinnamon flavors, any of your favorite white wines would work well with this recipe, I think! After opening my wine, I poured the whole thing into my big container.

Next, you're going to want to measure out your apple juice. My recipe calls for four cups of apple juice, but you can play it be ear and put in as much juice as you see fit for your perfect batch of sangria! I used Motts apple juice because that is the brand I have always loved, but you can use any brand you want. This recipe would also be delicious with apple cider instead of apple juice if that's what you prefer. You're going to want to pour all of your apple juice in with the wine!

The next step in making this apple cinnamon sangria is to add your fireball! A lot of people are not big fans of fireball, but I absolutely love it! I have always been a fan of cinnamon flavored things, and I think it goes perfectly with apple flavoring! If you don't like fireball, you can obviously choose to not put it in your sangria. If you do chose to put it in, though, you want to pour about a cup into your big container! I cannot tell a lie, I ended up putting an extra half a cup into my batch! It gives the sangria the perfect cinnamon kick.

Last but certainly not least, you want to take out your frozen apple chunks and pour them into your sangria! These made the perfect ice cubes and they were super tasty to eat while enjoying a glass of sangria!

This was my first time trying out this recipe, and I can honestly say I am super happy with how it turned out! It was the perfect combination of sweet apples and spicy cinnamon. This recipe is also super customizable! Substitute anything you want and play around with the ingredients until you get your perfect batch of sangria. This drink is so perfect for the fall from the fall flavor to the colors of the drink. I am more than happy to share this yummy drink recipe with you all!

Thanks for reading! :)
