Mom Jeans

Who says the clothes our moms rock aren't cool anymore? There's nothing I love to wear more than mom jeans! I went to the thrift store to pick up a pair of jeans and I used them to throw together these outfits:

I LOVE this outfit guys. I get definite 80's & 90's vibes from this collared shirt I got from Shein. I love the pops of red and rusty brown. This outfit might be a little out there for some people; it's definitely not everyone's cup of tea. I felt like some kind of mixture between Kimmy Gibbler and Dj Tanner and I was loving it. I don't think I am cool enough to pull this outfit off but I wore it anyway. I like to dress down collared shirts by pairing them with jeans and this outfit is a perfect example of that. I wore this outfit to Skyline caverns. Since caves are pretty cold, I needed to pair this outfit with a jacket. I am not that big on the denim on denim trend, but this denim jacket from the thrift store was all I brought on this trip. I thought I'd include it in the post in case any of you are loving the denim on denim trend at the moment! I had so much fun wearing this outfit.

You can never go wrong with a flannel. You can tie it around your waist all day until it gets chilly in the evening when you can throw it on. I love how versatile flannels can be and I absolutely love wearing them. I actually got this flannel in the same trip to the thrift store as I got the mom jeans. I love the baggy boyfriend look of this outfit and how comfortable it is. Unfortunately I broke the pair of shoes I wanted to pair with this outfit so I paired it with these flip flops from Walmart. I think this outfit would look really cute with white sneakers or a pair of casual sandals.

I have not been too big on the embroidery trend, but I saw this adorable tank top at American Eagle and I had to have it. I am a big fan of stripes so that and the pink flowers sold me. In the first picture you can see the embroidery on both sides on the bust area. The second photo is my reaction after being savagely attacked by a bee. (I included it because who doesn't love a laughing candid shot?) This top looks so cute with mom jeans. I love tucking baggy tops into jeans so the fabric flows over just a little. It does me a solid and hides some of my fat when i sit down, plus it looks cute! I wanted to pair this outfit with my favorite sneakers from H&M that I wear as much as humanly possible, but I was outside all day at a family reunion when I wore this outfit, so I opted for these sparkly sandals from American Eagle that I didn't care about getting dirty. I also paired this outfit with a floppy hat that I got from Walmart! I love this outfit so much!

Believe it or not, this outfit is actually just jeans over a romper from Shein. The romper is thin enough that it doesn't show through the jeans and I thought it created a cute bodysuit effect. I love that it's off the shoulder and I had a lot of fun wearing it to grab a few drinks with a friend. That just goes to show how versitile mom jeans can be; you can wear them out to a bar or to a family reunion! They are cute with all outfits. This outfit will actually be featured again in a couple weeks in a post about my favorite rompers and two piece outfits. Keep an eye out for that if you're interested!

Those are just a few ways that I like to style mom jeans. I'd love to hear your input on my outfits and see pictures of how you like to style them. Leave a like and/or a comment if you enjoyed!

Thanks for reading!
